Mirror illusion tested to help stroke patients regain movement

NCT ID NCT07204067

Summary

This study is testing whether adding 'mirror therapy' to standard physical therapy helps people recover arm and hand function after a recent stroke. Mirror therapy uses a mirror to create the visual illusion that a weakened limb is moving normally, which may help the brain relearn movement. The trial will involve 44 adults who had a stroke within the last month, comparing those who get standard therapy plus mirror therapy to those who get standard therapy alone.
