First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tests whether mirabegron, a drug currently used for overactive bladder, can improve blood sugar control and activate calorie-burning brown fat in people with prediabetes. About 65 adults with prediabetes and a BMI between 27 and 45 will take the drug for several weeks. Researchers will measure changes in glucose tolerance, body composition, and brown fat activity to see if this approach could help manage or prevent diabetes.
