Antibiotic tested to boost brain healing after major stroke

NCT ID NCT05367362

Summary

This study aimed to see if adding the antibiotic minocycline to standard emergency surgery for a severe stroke could help patients recover better. It planned to enroll adults who had a major stroke caused by a large blocked artery and were undergoing a procedure to remove the clot. The goal was to see if 21 days of minocycline, starting right after surgery, could reduce long-term disability compared to standard care alone.
