First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 16, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study tested whether giving a small amount of fluid (3 ml per kg over 2 minutes) can predict if a child under anesthesia will need more fluids. 60 children having scheduled surgery took part. The goal was to avoid giving too much fluid, which can be harmful. The approach was to compare the small fluid test to the standard larger fluid test.
