Can 20 minutes of mindfulness beat hospital pain?
NCT ID NCT07254923
Summary
This study compares two brief, non-drug psychological techniques to see if they can quickly reduce acute pain in hospitalized adults. 160 patients with recent, significant pain will be randomly assigned to receive one 20-minute bedside session of either mindfulness, guided imagery, or a short educational talk. The main goal is to measure any immediate change in pain intensity right after the session while patients continue their normal medical care.
