First seen Jan 10, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 17 times

Summary

This study tests whether a mindfulness-based therapy program, adapted for Vietnamese Buddhist pagodas, can help reduce depression symptoms and improve quality of life. Researchers will recruit 160 adults from eight pagodas near Hanoi, Vietnam. Half will receive the mindfulness program, and the other half will continue with usual Buddhist meditation. The goal is to see if bringing mental health support into community religious settings can make treatment more accessible and less stigmatizing.
