Can meditation calm the stressed Caregiver's body and mind?
NCT ID NCT03745235
Summary
This study tested whether a mindfulness meditation program could help reduce stress and related body inflammation in people caring for family members with severe psychiatric disorders like schizophrenia or bipolar disorder. Caregivers were randomly assigned to either attend mindfulness sessions or receive their usual care. The researchers measured stress levels and blood markers of inflammation to see if the meditation made a difference.
