App eases stress for black caregivers of HIV patients

Summary
This study tested a smartphone app that teaches mindfulness to African American caregivers of people living with HIV/AIDS. The goal was to see if the app could lower stress, improve self-compassion, and strengthen the relationship between caregiver and care recipient. One hundred caregivers took part in a randomized trial comparing the app to usual support.
