Summary

This study tested a compassion meditation program for 142 veterans with chronic pain and either depression or PTSD. Participants were split into two groups: one learned compassion meditation, the other received health education. The goal was to see if the meditation could reduce how much pain interfered with daily life and improve mood and overall well-being.
