Milk proteins may save malnourished kids from deadly diarrhea cycle

Summary

This study tests whether adding milk proteins (lactoferrin and lysozyme) to the daily food of malnourished children aged 6-24 months can prevent severe diarrhea and help them recover nutritionally. The 600 participants in Kenya will receive the supplement for 6 months after leaving the hospital. The goal is to reduce illness and death in a high-risk group.
