Summary

This study tests whether adding milk proteins (lactoferrin and lysozyme) to the daily food of malnourished children aged 6-24 months can prevent severe diarrhea and help them recover nutritionally. Six hundred children in Kenya who were hospitalized for diarrhea will receive the supplements for 6 months. The goal is to reduce repeat episodes and improve growth.
