Septic shock pill trial fizzles: only 10 patients enrolled

NCT ID NCT03706053

First seen Sep 30, 2025 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 23 times

Summary

This study tested whether midodrine, an oral pill, could help people with septic shock stop needing IV blood pressure support sooner. The trial planned to enroll many patients but was stopped early after only 10 joined. Because it ended early, we cannot draw clear conclusions about whether midodrine helps or not.
