Pill could shorten ICU stays for deadly blood infection

NCT ID NCT03706053

Summary

This study tested whether giving an oral blood pressure medication called midodrine early to adults with septic shock could help them stop needing strong IV medications faster. The goal was to see if this approach reduced the time patients needed a central IV line and their overall stay in the intensive care unit. The trial was stopped early after enrolling only 10 participants.
