Tiny plastic particles found in heart Patients' blood: are they making us sick?

NCT ID NCT07291609

Summary

This study aims to understand if tiny plastic particles in our environment get into the bloodstream and affect heart health. Researchers will measure the amount of microplastics in the blood of 120 people with chronic heart disease who are already scheduled for heart scans and procedures. They will check if higher plastic levels are linked to worse artery plaque or future heart problems over 1-3 years.
