First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tested whether small cash grants and peer mentoring could help transgender people who are struggling financially feel less psychological distress. 360 transgender adults experiencing material hardship were split into three groups: one got a single grant, another got monthly grants, and a third got monthly grants plus peer mentoring. The goal was to see if these supports could reduce distress and improve well-being.
