Scientists probe gut Bacteria's role in surgical leak healing

NCT ID NCT07424469

Summary

This study aims to understand how the community of bacteria in the gut changes when a leak occurs after stomach or esophagus surgery. Researchers will collect fluid and tissue samples from 50 adult patients who have developed such leaks. By comparing these samples, they hope to learn which patients are most at risk and find clues to develop better prevention and treatment methods in the future.
