First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 35 times

Summary

This study looks at whether using a machine that helps inflate the lungs (mechanical insufflation) twice a day can slow the loss of cough strength in people with early ALS. Twenty participants will use the BiWaze Cough device for 6 months. Their results will be compared to a similar group that did not use the device. The goal is to see if this simple daily routine can help maintain airway clearance and breathing function.
