Summary

This study tested whether adding a long-acting stimulant (methylphenidate) to standard antipsychotic medication can improve thinking, memory, and daily functioning in people with schizophrenia or schizoaffective disorder. 35 stable adults took the drug in addition to their usual treatment. The goal was to see if it helps with symptoms like low motivation and trouble concentrating, while monitoring for any worsening of psychosis.
