Psoriasis combo therapy trial: does methotrexate boost Anti-TNF?

NCT ID NCT02829424

First seen Nov 20, 2025 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 28 times

Summary

This study looked at whether adding low-dose methotrexate to standard anti-TNF therapy helps adults with moderate to severe psoriasis achieve and maintain better skin clearance. About 78 participants who had not used anti-TNF drugs before were randomly assigned to receive either methotrexate or a placebo alongside their anti-TNF treatment. The goal was to see if the combination could prevent loss of response over 24 months. The study was terminated early, so results are limited.
