New hope for severe eczema: safer drug challenge

NCT ID NCT00809172

Summary

This study tested whether methotrexate works as well as cyclosporine for adults with moderate-to-severe eczema (atopic dermatitis). Both drugs aim to control the disease, but cyclosporine carries risks like high blood pressure and kidney problems. Researchers enrolled 100 patients to see if methotrexate could be a safer, equally effective option over 24 weeks of treatment.
