New combo therapy may restore color in hard-to-treat vitiligo patches

NCT ID NCT07352293

First seen Jun 27, 2026 ยท Last updated Jun 27, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether adding a 6-month course of methotrexate improves the results of a skin cell transplant (NCES) for adults with stable, treatment-resistant vitiligo on elbows and knees. Twenty participants will be split into two groups: one gets methotrexate before and after the transplant, the other gets the transplant alone. Both groups also receive light therapy (PUVA) for 3 months after the procedure. The goal is to see if the combination leads to better repigmentation.
