Could a single dose of methadone ease pain after brain surgery better than standard care?

NCT ID NCT06810336

First seen May 22, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026

Summary

This study tests whether a single dose of methadone given during brain surgery can control pain and improve recovery better than the usual short-acting opioid remifentanil. About 40 adults having elective brain surgery will take part. The goal is to see if methadone leads to less pain, less need for extra painkillers, and a better overall recovery in the first few days after surgery.
