Head-to-Head test: which addiction treatment keeps patients coming back?
NCT ID NCT06323824
Summary
This study compares two common medications for opioid addiction—methadone and buprenorphine—to see which one helps people stay in treatment longer when prescribed in a regular doctor's office. About 600 adults starting new treatment for opioid addiction will be randomly assigned to receive one of the medications. Researchers will track how long participants continue treatment and examine what helps or hinders offering methadone in office settings.
