First seen Mar 20, 2026 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 3 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving one dose of IV methadone right before total knee replacement surgery helps control pain afterward and lowers the amount of painkillers patients need. About 192 adults aged 21-75 having a knee replacement will take part. Researchers will track pain levels and opioid use for 48 hours after surgery.
