New approach to ease Kids' pain after tonsil surgery

NCT ID NCT06576830

Summary

This study aims to see if a single dose of a long-acting opioid (methadone) given during surgery provides better pain relief for children after tonsil removal than the standard short-acting opioids. Researchers will compare how much extra pain medicine kids need after surgery and track their pain levels and side effects. The goal is to find a safer, more effective way to manage post-surgery pain in children and teenagers.
