Summary

This study tested how well a once-daily form of metformin (metformin XR) controls blood sugar over 24 hours in people with type 2 diabetes and mild to moderate chronic kidney disease (CKD stages 1-3). Twelve participants took the drug while their blood sugar was continuously monitored. The study also checked kidney function and lactate levels to see how well the drug was tolerated.
