Could a diabetes pill boost arthritis relief?

Summary
This study tests whether adding metformin, a common diabetes drug, to standard methotrexate treatment helps control rheumatoid arthritis better than methotrexate alone. About 128 adults with active RA who have not recently taken methotrexate will be randomly assigned to receive either methotrexate plus metformin or methotrexate plus a placebo. The main goal is to see if the combination leads to lower disease activity after 12 weeks.
