Diabetes drug under scrutiny: does it affect ICU survival?
NCT ID NCT07300293
Summary
This study aims to understand if taking the common diabetes drug metformin before hospital admission affects survival rates for patients in intensive care with a severe condition called lactic acidosis. Researchers will look back at the medical records of 100 adults with type 2 diabetes who were treated in a French ICU between 2014 and 2023. The goal is to gather knowledge to help doctors better assess risks and improve care for these critically ill patients.
