Summary

This study tests whether metformin, a diabetes drug, is safe and can protect the brain in people aged 55–75 with multiple sclerosis (MS). Participants will take metformin or a placebo for 9 months, either alone or with their usual MS treatment. The goal is to see if metformin reduces nerve damage and disability progression.
