Diabetes drug tested as new hope for endometriosis pain

NCT ID NCT06611501

Summary

This study is testing if metformin, a common diabetes medication, can help reduce pelvic pain in young women with endometriosis when used alongside their regular hormone therapy. Researchers will compare metformin to a placebo (sugar pill) over six months in 14 participants to see if it eases pain and reduces body-wide inflammation. The goal is to find a new, non-hormonal option to better control this chronic condition.
