Summary
This early-stage study is testing whether adding metal-detoxifying drugs to standard chemotherapy can help control acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS). Researchers want to see if lowering metal levels in the blood and bone marrow improves treatment response and reduces side effects. The trial will first determine safe drug doses in 58 adult and some pediatric patients with these blood cancers.
