Scientists test cell 'Fuel' to fight deadly shock
NCT ID NCT04288635
Summary
This study aims to understand if adding specific nutrients to immune cells can help restore their energy production in patients with septic shock, a severe infection that causes organ failure. Researchers will collect blood samples from 55 patients in intensive care to test the nutrients in a lab. The goal is to gather knowledge about cell function and metabolism, not to directly treat patients in this phase of the study.
