Scientists revisit 16-Year-Old data to unlock secret of metabolic health

NCT ID NCT06340321

Summary

This study aims to understand if a person's 'metabolic flexibility'—how well their body switches between burning sugars and fats for energy—predicts their future health. Researchers are bringing back 18 people from a study done 16 years ago to check their current health markers. The goal is to see if poor fuel switching is a cause or a consequence of developing conditions like obesity and metabolic syndrome.
