First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 09, 2026 · Updated 26 times

Summary

This study tests whether removing the mesentery (a fatty tissue near the intestine) during surgery for Crohn's disease is safe and helps prevent the disease from coming back. About 30 adults with Crohn's who are on biotherapy and need ileocolic surgery will take part. The main goal is to see if this surgery causes no more complications than standard surgery, and if it lowers the chance of recurrence within 6 months.
