Radiation boost tested in fight against rare, aggressive skin cancer
NCT ID NCT03071406
Summary
This study is testing whether adding a precise, high-dose radiation treatment (SBRT) to a two-drug immunotherapy combination works better for controlling advanced Merkel cell carcinoma. It will compare the standard immunotherapy pair (nivolumab and ipilimumab) against the same drugs plus radiation. The goal is to see if the three-part approach helps shrink tumors and keep the cancer from progressing longer for the 50 adults in the trial.
