The goal was to see if ibrutinib could clear those leftover cells from the blood and bone marrow. Participants took ibrutinib pills, and doctors checked for minimal residual disease (MRD) over time. The approach aims to control the disease long-term, not cure it, since ongoing treatment is needed.
