First seen Apr 01, 2026 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 7 times

Summary

This study tests whether spraying a menthol solution into the colon during a colonoscopy can reduce muscle spasms and help doctors find more polyps. About 440 adults getting a colonoscopy will be randomly assigned to receive either menthol or a placebo rinse. The goal is to see if this simple, natural compound can make the procedure smoother and more accurate.
