First seen Mar 20, 2026 · Last updated May 02, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study looks at whether mental skills training (MST) can improve coping and psychological readiness in young athletes returning to sports after ACL reconstruction. About 130 participants aged 8 to 25 will be split into two groups: one receiving MST sessions before and after surgery, and a control group without MST. The goal is to see if MST helps reduce anxiety, depression, and stress while boosting confidence and athletic identity.
