New program aims to heal mental scars of stigma for black trans women

Summary
This study is creating and testing a new support program designed to help Black transgender women cope with the psychological distress caused by chronic stigma and discrimination. The program involves weekly group sessions, online educational materials, and social resources, all developed with direct input from the community. Researchers will work with 40 participants to see if this culturally-informed approach is practical and helpful for reducing symptoms of depression and trauma.
