Study asks: are therapists missing the mind in treating the body?

NCT ID NCT07177547

Summary

This study aims to understand how physical therapists check for anxiety and depression in patients with long-term neck, shoulder, or back pain. Researchers interviewed 18 physical therapists to learn about their current practices, what makes it easier to screen for mental health, and what gets in the way. The goal is to gather knowledge to potentially improve how physical therapy addresses both physical pain and mental well-being.
