Schools test new approach to spot mental health needs in black children
NCT ID NCT05450094
Summary
This study compares two school-based mental health screening approaches to help African-American elementary students get needed mental health services. Researchers are testing whether enhanced screening methods can reduce the gap in unmet mental health needs that disproportionately affects Black children. The study involves training school staff and tracking whether more students receive appropriate mental health support instead of disciplinary actions.
