Talking it out: group chats boost HIV pill taking and mental health in south african men
NCT ID NCT06880172
First seen Mar 16, 2026 · Last updated May 12, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This small study tested a group discussion program for men who have sex with men in South Africa who struggle to take their HIV medication (either daily prevention pills or treatment pills). The goal was to see if talking about common mental health problems could help them stick with their meds and feel less depressed or stressed. Only 12 men took part, so results are very early and not widely applicable.
