Scientists hunt for genetic clues behind depression and psychosis

NCT ID NCT00762866

Summary

This research project aims to understand the genetic and biological roots of serious mental health conditions like major depression, bipolar disorder, and psychotic disorders. It involves collecting DNA, brain scans, and detailed health information from 2,000 participants, including people with these conditions and healthy volunteers. The goal is to gather knowledge that may one day help match treatments to individuals, but this study itself does not provide treatment.
