First seen Jun 24, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tested a simple tool to help family doctors better manage mental health problems after a mild traumatic brain injury (concussion). Over 500 adults who visited an emergency department were enrolled. Doctors received a letter with their patient's mental health screening results and treatment guidelines, while patients got an information package. The goal was to see if this approach improves recognition and treatment of mental health issues like depression or anxiety after a concussion.
