First seen Jun 25, 2026 · Last updated Jul 01, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study follows up with people who survived a dangerous heart condition called electrical storm and were treated in the ICU. Researchers want to understand how the experience and treatments affect mental health and quality of life. Participants fill out questionnaires about PTSD, anxiety, and depression 3 to 6 months after their ICU stay.

What this could mean

Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.

What this could lead to

If successful, this study could reveal how ICU treatments for electrical storm affect survivors' mental health, pointing toward better supportive care.

What could go wrong

This is a small, observational follow-up study with only 70 participants, so results may not apply to everyone. It measures symptoms via questionnaires, not hard outcomes.
