Scientists test if your period affects Post-Workout soreness

NCT ID NCT07322874

Summary

This study aimed to understand if a woman's menstrual cycle phase affects how sore and weak her muscles feel after hard exercise. Fifteen healthy, active women with regular cycles performed the same intense downhill running workout once during their follicular phase and once during their luteal phase. Researchers then measured their muscle soreness, strength, and blood markers for several days after each workout to compare recovery between the two cycle phases.
