New shot for deadly meningitis tested in infants

Summary

This study is testing a new vaccine designed to protect babies from four types of meningococcal meningitis (A, C, Y, W135). It will enroll 880 healthy infants aged 3 to 5 months to see if the new vaccine works as well as an already approved vaccine. Researchers will compare the babies' immune responses and monitor safety closely over several months, including a booster shot at one year old.
