First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tests whether giving extremely premature babies (born at 28 weeks or earlier) a special diet enriched with DHA and ARA during their first 14 days of life can reduce lung damage and improve breathing. About 150 babies will take part. The goal is to see if early nutrition can lower the severity of bronchopulmonary dysplasia, a common chronic lung disease in preemies.
