First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 07, 2026 · Updated 21 times
Summary
This study gathers expert opinions from dermatologists in the Middle East and North Africa to create guidelines for using poly-L-lactic acid (PLLA) injections, which stimulate collagen to reduce wrinkles and improve skin firmness. Current guidelines are based on lighter skin types, so this study focuses on the unique needs of darker skin (Fitzpatrick III-VI). No patients are involved—only 15 doctors will complete surveys to agree on best practices. The final guide aims to make treatments safer and more effective for people in the region.
