Brain training tested to help early memory loss

NCT ID NCT05380739

Summary

This small pilot study tested whether a specific type of brain exercise, called working memory training, could help improve thinking skills in older adults with mild cognitive impairment (MCI). Researchers used brain scans and memory tests to see if the training changed how participants' brains worked and if it improved their ability to learn and remember information. The study was terminated early and involved only 24 participants, so its findings are very preliminary.
